No April Fools this year. Frank, my mom and I went to visit some family in PA over the long weekend. It was a nice drive out about 6 hours. We got in and had a BBQ slow roasted ribs and chicken. so much food that tasted soooooo good. Tommy can cook and Christy can bake some wonderful pies. The kids were happy to see us even tho they were stuck in the house all weekend. they were sick and it was cold so they had to stay in for most of the time why we were out.
Little Nelly was adorable she told me that frank is a scary man and she wouldn't share her snacks with him. so i took on and gave it to him and she looked at me and says i don't like you anymore. So cute by the end of the night she was feeding both of us snacks and she wouldn't let me put her down. So cute!!!
Saturday was a long long day. They had their festival for maple syrup in the middle of the snow storm, But we got up early so we could shoot some guns. Frank had a blast. I have a ton of photos I have yet to upload. I created a snow man and they used some rifles and shotguns to destroy it. Some great times Then back in the car to drive around the area.Learned a new card game called Flinch fun game. We ended the night with that.
Sunday morning we had breakfast with my uncle dick and aunt debbie. Wish I could get my uncle dick to open up more to me. i really don't know much about him but he seems to think i do. Very odd. Oh well. I did run into more family members on our day trip to WV about a 3 hour drive through the hills. We found my great great great great grampas grave site. and the rest of the old timers in my familys sights. Learned more about where the bennetts come from and found out there is a town called Tacy in WV even tho it's not mappable. it's there. lol
My mom was looking for her dad's grave on the Gorden side and we are not sure if we found it but we did find some Gordens in Elkins. then we got to see the covered bridge that some people fought at with a hole bunch of stuff i don't really know or paid attention to. Confetterate side and the other side of some war that started on this bridge the bridge has some stories.I got some photos even tho it was getting late and it was dark. with out a tripod errrr. i did the best i could.
We really had a lot of fun. I makes me want to move from michigan, I hate snow even in the moutians but I have to say WOW snow in the hills i can honestly say the first time in this winter. wow this is really pretty. Either way it hit a bug in my butt and I want to move out of state. i don't want to deal with any more winters. I want to see mountians made from land not bridges in michigna we call hills. Like rouge river bridge. ;) plus in stead of ditches they have streams or brookes and creeks Like what. this is wonderful. I am leaning towards NC. So i hope to build a plan that will get us there sooner than later. However as stated in the past it's all relies on if i can have a baby or not. Michigan will always be home to me and I'll never hate it. I just think it's time to live else where. Oh the friends i will miss and the family. if it weren't for you all i'd of been a gonner a long long time ago! ;)
