BWCA 2014 Trip Report

Update: sorry i lost the images and am too lazy to find them again. some images of maps are down below story is staying!

 Entry  point mudro lake #23
We woke up early to get to the entry point before most others in hopes of at least. We had some success not many people were loading their canoe in the water. There is a portage right there the water was high so we gave it a try. only got stuck once so that wasn't to bad of a start.  We finally settle in the canoe and I got the above shot. Entry to BWCA. we were early on the water so we could see the mist/haze rise from the water as the sun started to kiss the horizon.. A sunrise what a beautiful thing to see a pure un huminized sunrise. No wires, no motors, the only running water is the water you float on. Smell that water smell the pine and cedar take this fresh air in.  Calm waters and a golden hour(what ever it's called in the morning)

Day one was a bit of work for my first time it was not what I would say, was easy far from it. I guess before you read much further please understand this trip report is far from technical. I don't know all the names or remember all the places i stopped at. I do have a point of view that i'd like to share. from the mind of a wanna be photographer!!!

Sites like this you want to stop and breath to take it in day one had so many great photo oppertunies but we were meeting someone so we couldn't stop at every wonderful stand out way things are there.  We could continue to huzzle ass and get to where we need to be. i'm taken back by the beauty that is BWCA. We go threw the portages that everyone else goes on. My main plan was to capture all the portages so people could see. Tell me how that failed me each time? i'll tell ya..the WORK!!! you know unloading the canoe fixing the pack so it fits while walking x amount of rods to get to water again. While having your husband steal your camera to do a video and photo shot of what he carries and walks with.. see look below.. see the trail...?

These clouds were so puffy they looked fake.. like a painting really but it was real i swear it was real. This I think was our last lake before the campsite and meeting up with our friend.
We found our friend with camp set up. look at that and with a little peninsula in the water yeah nice touch mother nature nice touch!!

We were lucky to have a friend who was already out there a day or so he went fishing and i made fish taco's  look at that yummy goodness. all dehydrate by me and i brought way to much food.  Like i said wanna be photographer, yeah see below for end of day one and our first camp site photo scroll!!!

We got stuck in some nature, a storm, the wind kicked up and was messing with our tarps adding water in them and making us stand in one spot. Holding the stick up to keep the tarp up. it was rough. that and letting our fire go out was not a think that would of happend. the rain came down very hard. It didn't last long thankfully we gather our stuff that got wet and placed it in the setting sun to dry what we could.. lucky it wasn't any of our bedding.  We were blessed to see some wonderful setting sun along with a rainbow on the other side. What a sight a camp site that is.. haha.
the trees and green smelt great after the storm to btw..
During the storm i couldn't help but have that feeling of we are really alone out here. away from the normal life. and it gives me a feeling of peace a sense of lust of wonderment. Respect and patience are instantly being called upon. Thank you mother nature for giving me such a great day. This is day one long hard and mostly forgotten details. However once i got there i said to myself.. no words not even images can capture the beauty this land has to offer. Not even the professional ones. You don't get the smells and the sounds you don't get the breeze and the feeling you get for being there. So many places there left unseen by me. so much ground yet to cover.

Day 2 -  The day i got my ass kicked by the unexpected..

okay we stopped right before our primitive hike and we did it anyway. i was so willing to stay and rock out this sweet site that i dont have a photo of. tired sore it felt liek a week already and it's day two. Not many photos. So i'll keep it as short as possible.  we paddled it was great for a while we got to a portage it sucksed we coudln't see our feet as we were walking sucked. keep in mind the feet were stepping on oh a rock the size of a small dog followed by what i thought was quick sand at one point but it was just 2 ft deep mud. not sure if the trail is right doing our best not to get lost. and playing limbo it was worse then due west at NMI. we had to do that trail twice double portage.. we had to carry our stuff. I have to say tho it was worth it.. once we got to camp and it was a legit camp site at one point. even tho we were dead center of no where!!

We were watched over with by an eagle Thanks dude..

Let me put this into perspective for you by what i mean NO WHERE!!!

Oh - um well i forgot to finish and post this i'm about to go on to trip 2 for 2015 .. i think i should publish this now!
