min. wage cost of living

umm people may look at this so forgive the next few lines it has no connections to what i am about to type... just those nice people who comment on your comment page search stuff and i think this is what there searching.or will get there attention. "google, poor people, technorati <-- great web site... ... i like salons and coffee house, i like bars and hot chicks..<-- not really but i bet i'll get a lot of hits! or naked chicks ... he he he games i play... shoot at least i play them well. okay lets bust out with what is really on my mind take a gander again the above has nothing to do with what i am going to type out!!! the following is how I feel i'm sure others feel this way but here is MY VIEW AND FEELINGS. Joy Joy Okay this is an estimate. Let say someone in there 20’s is working a 40 work week and they make $6.00 and hour  that is above min. wage. So that’s $240.00 a week with out taxes.. Most taxes don’t exceed 25% of your pay. Lets down size it and only take 15% off your weekly pay.
so now we subtract $36 dollars from the weekly UN taxed take home… and we have our real take home of $204.
So there are typically 4 weeks in a month so let’s take our take home and times it by 4. We have $816 dollars a month. Rent cost at least $400 a month  most the time you can’t get an apartment for less then $500 so let’s bit the bullet and say rent is $440 a month.
So every check you’re pulling money out for rent. If you pull $110 out of each check for 4 weeks that is your rent money. So now you have $94 bucks a week.
Now after rent you have $376. a month left… wow that’s a lot of money…
but for most people getting to work is around 30min drive. We will estimate that about 15-30 miles away from your home… gas lets under estimate this one let say its $2 a gallon for gas. For a non gas guzzler you have about 26 miles per gallon. Let’s say you drive 22miles to and from work 5 days a week. That’s 44 miles a day. 220 miles a week now let’s see how much one would spend in gas money.
At $2 a gallon it gets you 26 miles. 26 divided by 220 8.4 gallons you use a week. That’s not including running to the store for shopping or other chorse. So let’s make it an even number of 10 gallons of gas a week. That’s $20 bucks a week so let’s take that out of our new weekly income.
Now we have 74 bucks a week.
What else do we need to have… we got shelter and a ride to work… oh yeah insurance that’s around for no fault 100 a month give or take. So let’s take another $25 bucks out for insurance a week. Now we have $49 bucks left.
Okay rent, a car you must have gotten from thin air I’m not calculating that... it will really make the land of the free look like crap.
We may need electricity … now that can very from 25 and up… so let’s say you pay 25 a month for electric. Subtract 5 bucks a week from your weekly paycheck Wow 44 bucks left per week. That’s leaves us with 176 bucks a month.
Rent electric car expenses. Do you need a phone? Well if you want to have a phone so you can call in sick or say you’re going to be late. Expect to pay out at least 40 bucks a month. Let’s take away another 10 bucks out from our weekly pay checks. Leaving us with 34 bucks a week.
Oh yeah food lets just put the rest on food that 4.8 something for food a day! That won’t even buy a value meal from Wendy’s …
Now entertainment everyone wants to have fun in there life. No much you can do for nothing! Is there... go to a park and play????
Let’s see and this estimate wasn’t done on min wage that would be 5.15 bucks.
Let’s see what the difference would be.
Well you would have 5 bucks a week left over for food… that is .71 cent a day for food!!!
